Illinois Action for Healthy Kids (IL AFHK) invites individuals with expertise in school health and wellness to submit session ideas for presentation during the 8th Illinois School Wellness Conference, which is scheduled for April 23, 2015, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1501 S. Neil Street Champaign, IL 61820. AFHK is specifically interested in presentations that highlight successful school health and wellness-related outreach in schools, innovative projects that improve the overall health of the school community, and emerging issues impacting school health and wellness.

Chicago Botanic Garden is holding a unique professional development event, featuring new ideas for incorporating the Next Generation Science Standards and nature play into curriculum and programming. Presenters will focus on making the most of outdoor spaces around us and turning those spaces into outdoor field stations. We will also discuss what children learn at different ages and developmental levels through unstructured nature play.
